| | | Congratulations to President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden! Together, we made the difference! |

 | | | None of our work would have been possible without the help of our supporters and voters who stood with the Planned Parenthood Action Fund throughout this election. In the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, we've shown America that women's health does matter — on Election Day and every day.
THANK YOU! |

 | Planned Parenthood Celebrates Landslide Obama Victory | | Planned Parenthood’s One Million Strong Campaign is celebrating the historic election of Barack Obama as the next president of the United States and the state legislative sweep of pro-women’s health candidates endorsed by PPAWI. This campaign was a national commitment from Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country to drive one million pro-choice, pro-women’s health voters to the polls on November 4th.
The people of Wisconsin and throughout the country have sent a resounding message that women’s health matters, and that we will stand behind the candidates who stand up for women’s health. This is more than just change, it is an end of to eight long years of an assault on women and families and their private, personal health care decisions.
In Wisconsin, PPAWI along with 150 volunteers and Planned Parenthood’s national advocacy arm Planned Parenthood Action Fund, contributed to the election of these candidates through the following efforts:
- Knocking on nearly 5,000 doors to inform and mobilize the vote for candidates who back women’s health care access
- Sending nearly 740,000 mail pieces detailing candidates’ positions
- Making roughly 30,000 phone calls, encouraging voters to head to the polls
- Launching a TV, radio and online ad campaign in support of candidates who back women’s health initiatives
With Barack Obama soon to be leading this country and the victory of Planned Parenthood endorsed candidates, the next four years hold great promise for women and their families. We look forward to working with the new Obama administration along with the new team of state legislative leaders to advance policies that protect and enhance health care access for women and their families. |

 | Victory for Women's Health: Together We Did It! | | The Planned Parenthood Action Fund celebrates the election of Barack Obama to the presidency. In President-elect Obama, our nation has a leader committed to women's rights and access to health care, including support for affordable birth control and commonsense, science-based sex education.
Voters also defeated dangerous, anti-choice ballot initiatives in California, Colorado, and South Dakota, and elected pro-choice leaders to Congress and state houses across the country.
Our Successes The Planned Parenthood Action Fund targeted almost 600,000 persuadable, pro-choice women voters in key states with a campaign of six mail pieces and one-on-one conversations on the phone and at the door.
We also reached an additional 500,000 women in key states regarding U.S. Senate races, and, with our sister organization, Planned Parenthood Votes, and local Planned Parenthood political organizations, supported the election of 60 state legislative candidates.
Finally, in the largest political program in the Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s history, we reached millions of women via television ads, viral Internet campaigns, and an aggressive earned media campaign with the message that women’s health matters, and so does their vote. |
