"Personhood" Amendment
The Personhood Amendment is dangerous and deceptive:
- Change the state constitution and insert the government into the personal, private health care decisions that women and their families make every single day.
- Ban birth control.
- Ban in-vitro fertilization.
- Ban abortion with no exceptions.
- Threaten women's lives by preventing life-saving treatment for pregnant women who face conditions like cancer.
This amendment would do nothing to prevent abortions or improve women's health. Health care decisions should be made by women and their doctors--not a fringe group rewriting the state constitution.
