PPAWI Releases Ad Highlighting Senator Wanggaard’s Anti- Women Record

MADISON- A new ad released today by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin highlights Senator Van Wanggaard’s record of voting against women’s health and rights. Senator Van Wanggaard voted to limit birth control access, equal pay protections for women and to cut funding for procedures that save women’s lives.

In response to Senator Wanggaard’s continued attacks on women Tanya Atkinson, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates issued the following statement:

“Senator Van Wanggaard has a record of voting against women and women’s access to critical, lifesaving preventative health care,” said Tanya Atkinson. “Senator Van Wanggaard voted to defund Planned Parenthood - a non-profit health care provider that has served 1 in 5 women for over 75 years with lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control and health exams. Senator Wanggaard has played enough politics with women’s health. Senator Wanggaard is not supporting women, so why should women and the families who love them support him? On June 5, voters in SD 21 have a choice to elect John Lehman a candidate with a solid record supporting women’s health and rights.”
