| Senator Reynolds opposes the Healthy Women Program that provides 64,000 Wisconsin women with basic health care, including cancer screens and birth control. That's Outrageous! Senator Reynolds wants to deny women cost-effective, preventive health care that is critical to the health and well-being of themselves and their family by supporting SB 552. Birth control is basic health care used by 95% of women during their lifetimes. Birth control is the best way to prevent unintended pregnancies and reduce the need for abortion. Cervical cancer is preventable, and if caught early, has close to a 100% survival and curability rate. Breast cancer affects one in eight women. A complete early detection plan includes regular clinic breast examinations by a trained medical professional and monthly breast self-exams. |
