Shame on Representative Vos
Shame on Representative Underheim
and Senator Roessler

Representative Gregg Underheim and Senator Carol Roessler want to deny rape victims access to emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy after an assault.  That's shameful.

Your area legislators, Representative Underheim and Senator Roessler, chairs of the Health Committees in the Wisconsin Legislature, oppose the Compassionate Care for Rape Victims Act (AB 305/SB 166) and refuse to schedule a public hearing and vote on these important bills.

Rape victims deserve comprehensive and compassionate medical care, including access to emergency contraception to prevent pregnancy after an assault.

The American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommend that access to EC be a standard of care in all hospital emergency rooms, yet this is not the case for the majority of Wisconsin hospitals.

Emergency contraception (EC) is an FDA-approved birth control that prevents pregnancy if taken within 120 hours after unprotected intercourse or sexual assault.  The sooner EC is taken, the more effective it is in preventing pregnancy.

Rape victims deserve better.

Health care decisions should be made by women and their doctors, not politicians. Take action today!

Call Representative Underheim and
Senator Roessler and tell them to stop their attack on rape victims and to schedule a hearing and a vote to improve access to compassionate health care.
