Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin (PPAWI) is the advocacy arm of Planned
Parenthood of Wisconsin, the state's largest and most
trusted reproductive health care organization.
Planned Parenthood Advocates educates and lobbies on behalf of
reproductive rights and family planning and engages in electoral activities to
support candidates for elected office that will promote access to reproductive
health care, responsible sex education and freedom of choice. We work with supporters, volunteers, the
public, media, and legislators to protect reproductive health and freedom.

choice. We mobilize volunteers, keep
them informed about current legislative issues and elections, and provide tools
and resources needed so they can make their voices heard in the public policy
arenas.
Planned
Parenthood E-Outreach Internship:
Planned Parenthood provides volunteer internship opportunities
throughout the year. Internships are
8-12 hours/week, and are available for the semester (Jan-May, May-Aug, Sept-Dec) or year-long.
Internships are unpaid, but college credit can be arranged. This is a great opportunity
to gain on-the-job-skills while doing vitally important work to protect and
expand reproductive health and choice and gain valuable experience and career
skills in online organizing.
Intern
Qualifications:
Prospective
interns should be self-motivated, reliable, organized, detail oriented, and have
a strong commitment to reproductive freedom, including the right to choose
abortion. Interns should also have
experience with HTML and graphic design, high level of comfort with and
willingness to learn about online tools and technology, and have an interest in
electoral, public policy and non-profit advocacy work.
E-Outreach
Internship Projects Include:

Identify ways to use social networking sites to engage new audiences
online.
·
Write content for social networking sites, blogs, websites,
and email alerts.
·
Update and maintain online volunteer recruitment efforts and
information.
·
Build on our existing websites, MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube
profiles.
·
Help create Podcasts, online videos, Flash movies, etc.
·
Assist with computer kiosk program to engage Planned Parenthood
patients in advocacy efforts.
·
Research, test, and analyze a variety of social networking sites. Create a system for comparing sites,
including audiences, tools available, likelihood of growth, and potential for
our use to engage new audiences in advocacy.
·
Write and present a report detailing research of social
networking sites. Make recommendations
for growing Planned Parenthood's e-outreach program.
·
Participate in general outreach and electoral activities, including
phone banks and canvassing.
·
